I am so excited to once again be a part of the Violet Elementary team. For those of you who do not know me, I’d like to introduce myself to you. My name is Lisa Bonett and this will be my 14th year with Lake Shore Public Schools. As a matter of fact, the very first class I taught at Lake Shore was in Kindergarten and those students graduated last year! I taught at Violet for 12 years and last year had the unique opportunity to teach at Lake Shore High School. It was an amazing experience and I enjoyed working with my former students. However, Violet is truly my home away from home, and I am so happy to be back and honored to have the privilege to work with our youngest learners!

Hobbies/Interests: I love spending time with my family. We are a very large family and have a very busy schedule. My children play sports, dance, and music. We volunteer often for the Special Olympics and enjoy helping others. I consider myself to be a life long learner and love discovering new things. I enjoy art, singing, animals, and most of all laughter! In my free time I enjoy cooking, gardening, music, church, and reading.
Family: I am the proud wife of a local Police Lieutenant and have 4 fabulous children. My youngest son is starting Kindergarten this year and we are so excited for everything he will learn. We come from a close knit family and enjoy spending time together. My sister is an Adaptive Physical Education teacher and works with children and adults with special needs. She organizes many fundraisers and events to help others. Volunteering to help our community is an important part of our family.
Awards/Honors: I graduated with Honors from both Madonna University and Oakland University. I take great pride in my academic accomplishments. In 2006 I was awarded teacher of the year at Violet Elementary School and Macomb County teacher of the week. I have also been nominated for elementary teacher of the year for the state of Michigan. I believe in hard work and determination. I am proud to be an educator.
Other: In 2007 I completed an internship at the Macomb County Juvenile Justice Center. It was an incredible opportunity to work with our at risk youth. My passion is helping others, especially those in need. I continue to look for opportunities to work with at risk youth and help make a positive impact on their lives.
